CUSTOM DESIGNS Sandpiper offers a variety of custom services for an instrument. Many times a customer asks for a variation of our standard instruments, and we are more than willing to try and accommodate the changes. Specifically, we can provide decorative services such as inlay of various materials, carving, wood burning, painting, custom decals, laser carving and staining. When we provide extra decorations or a shape change of the instrument, we will quote a "not to exceed" price, meaning that the cost is fixed, no matter how long it takes to provide the service. Your approval is always required before we proceed.

THE CONCERT GRAND (first designed as a custom harp) This harp was designed specifically to look like a "real" harp (pedal harp), but have the sound volume of a Paraguayan harp, have 36 strings, be as light as possible (34 pounds), and be able to survive salt water spray, rain, and the high humidity and sun in Hawaii during outdoor weddings. The harp has been very successful and is very elegant in appearance.

CUSTOM CARVED This harp is an Irish Concert model with a carved angel on the front of the pillar. The wings extend to the rear along each side of the neck. This is only one example of the carving possibilities available from Sandpiper.

CUSTOM CARVED AND WOODBURNED IMAGES This is an example of a celtic knot pattern, woodburned and shaded, with a carved rose in the middle. The rose is carved into the surface to the pillar front plate.

LASER CARVED IMAGES This is an example of a laser carving done on the front of the pillar on a Silhouette harp. Any surface that is flat at one time during the building process can be laser carved.

INKLINE This is an example of black inkline artwork. The image can be wrapped around the side of the soundbox, or placed elsewhere on the harp. The picture of the pillar and neck is a cubic zirconium stone mounted within the artwork, representing a water droplet on the tulip leaf. The star shape is the reflection of light from the stone.

CUSTOM CARVED This harp is an Elegance model with a floral addition on the neck and pillar.

SOUNDBOARD INLAY AND DECALS This is an example of soundboard inlay artwork with the addition of a floral decal applied under the finish.
